Stainless steel ferrules are compression fittings used with the high-pressure stainless steel tubing on Spectra watermaker systems. The ferrule is compressed onto the tubing during installation to create a secure, high-pressure connection.
Once a stainless steel ferrule has been installed and compressed, it is permanent and cannot be moved, reused, or removed from the tubing. For this reason, a new ferrule should be used whenever a high-pressure tubing connection is being replaced or rebuilt.
When purchasing a** stainless steel high-pressure fitting**, either a straight fitting or 90-degree fitting, the fitting already includes the appropriate set of ferrules. Additional ferrules are not required when purchasing a complete new high-pressure fitting.
